President Andrej Kiska honored Lúčnica by coming to see their gala performance in Paris

Slovak president Andrej Kiska has visited a Lúčnica gala performance in the the Maison de la Radio in Paris while on his official visit in France. The event took place on the occasion of the Slovak chairmanship in the Council of the European Union and president Kiska has even met members of the artistic ensemble.

We are honored to share his official facebook site commentary on the topic:

“We were all applauding for a long time. It was a performance full of energy which even the French viewed with awe. A strong music, great dance performances, amazing choreography – that all was delivered by Lúčnica in Paris during my official visit in France. I had the opportunity to have a talk with the dancers. I was surprised to find out that one of them trains my son in a children folk ensemble in Poprad. Many of them are still students and the older ones must have very patient employers. They were travelling the world more them three weeks at the time of our meeting and they present our Slovak culture to the world, which we feel very thankful for. Lúčnica left a strong emotional imprint in me. Thank you.“
